myrdschaemI was innocently catching up on tabs to find more people to follow on Dreamwidth and checked out some posts where people recced some canons for Snowflake Challenge.
Quite a few turned out to be about the Silmarillion, which I love because I love Epic poetry and story telling in all forms. Feed it to me, especially when it's not the usual Evergreens people know in Western Culture. My favourite topic in the Silmarillion is anything Morgoth, really. I love monsters, villains and all. He is edgy and over the top and him and Mairon aka Sauron have enormous synergy for shipping. Phobso on tumblr illustrated some awesome comics on tumblr in the distant year of circa 2014, check them out.
Here is where my demise happened: While thinking happily about Sauron/Morgoth, my mind just chose to jump to my current fixation, Transformers. Leading to the following insight:
Sauron/Morgoth has the same dynamic as Starscream/Megatron. Let it sink in for a bit.
Okay, so what's the problem you might ask? The thing that is currently making me feel very weird in my own mind is: I don't actively ship MegaStar. I read it, because good writers produce good fic, but I am more into the MegOP and MiniMegs. Meanwhile, I adore Sauron/Morgoth. They are not good people and yet.
Anyway, that's why my mind is currently picturing Megatron sitting on the throne deep in Angband with three Silmarils in his crown. Starscream might be doing some vampire cosplay in a tower and is about to get his ass kicked by Elita-1. I don't think I will find peace tonight, so I might as well share.
