Weekly Fanwork Recs #33
Oct. 23rd, 2021 04:02 pmSo I don't fall off the wagon again. It's not that I didn't read fanworks, but many were WIP this week, so this feels thinner, especially compared to the mammoth from last week.
Star Wars
Clone Wars
when the night-winds are about by blackkat. Kix/Jon Antilles, Rated T, No Warnings, Fairy Tale Elements, ~2.5k.
I do enjoy Jedi/Mandalorian fics a lot and the consensus is that Jon Antilles, like many Jedi, is Mando bait but even more so. Anyway, went looking for Jon Antilles things and found blackkat's series of prompts writing him with a variety of clones or Mandalorians. Most of them are snippets. I liked this in particular because of the low undercurrent that suggests he is a changeling and was snatched by his master away from the fae. Perfect for spooky season.
CodyWan
Lost and Found by EwanMcGregorIsMyHomeboy12. Rated E, No Warnings, pwp, impact play, ~3k.
BDSM style punishment for Obi-Wan, who has lost his lightsaber again. :) Including some nice extended spanking and paddling for his buttocks.
I've never made it with moderation by Trixree. Obi-Wan/Clones, Rated M, No Warnings, ~20k.
More Obi-Wan falling to save clones from getting decommissioned, now with Cody and the Bad Batch under his wing. I just adore the variations of this storyline and they take Kamino down because that's what they deserve. Some highlights in this were all the clones worrying about Obi-Wan when his eyes turn, but not about him but for him. They just go into protection mode right away, it gives me fuzzy feelings.
Prequels
Call me by your name by Petra. Anakin/Obi-Wan, Rated E, No Warnings, Roleplay, ~2k.
They roleplay... as each other, which is really unfairly hot. I love the ambiguity that springs up naturally, Anakin keeps wondering if Obi-Wan is saying or doing things because he thinks that is what Anakin would do or say or because Obi-Wan wants to do or say them. While Anakin is more pessimistic, I do think Obi-Wan is taking advantage of an opportunity to voice some feelings he normally holds back far better. But that uncertainty makes it hot.
Mandalorian
Legends and Myths by binz and shiplizard. Din Djarin & Grogu, Rated T, Graphic Violence, ~4.5k.
Far future Grogu as Mand'alor and a Din Djarin force abomination that still protects his child. The world building, the dread build, just everything in this is astounding and wonderful.
Din Djarin/Luke Skywalker
Power Over Angels by Chromat1cs. Rated E, No Warnings, pwp, glory holes, ~3k.
Imperial cadet Luke servicing a bounty hunter at a glory hole. I do enjoy his risk seeking here.
Overwatch
Reaper76
I return to what I've done (to where you stood on the shore) by passeridae. Rated E, No Warnings, body horror, ~4k.
This whole series of sea god Gabriel in love with human Jack is amazing, but we have a new installment, so focus on that. As always, the body horror of Gabriel's body built from the ocean is lovely. The descriptions are full of sensation and set this series apart from other stories. This is mostly possessive sex that goes beyond pain or pleasure, triggered by Gabriel sulking at a Jesse visit. Chef's kiss to the entire thing.
