This week is almost all from the Star War... Oops. I swear I will go back to Transformers and Overwatch too, but this week was mostly Codywan fanworks since there was a theme week.

...At least it was until I got into trouble with my NAS. Now a huge three weeks of updates but also with a lot of pod together recs too! There are some awesome, awesome creations in there.

This is ultimately my favourite fic of all the Codywan fics from the theme week, honestly. When Cody and Obi-Wan meet again on Tatooine and end up in bed together, it's only the start. Both of them are traumatised and not like they were before. Obi-Wan avoids many things related to the Jedi and Cody doesn't ever want to be ordered around, so he keeps leaving yet can't stay away. Slowly, both get better. The emotional arcs in this fic are almost without parallels, if I had to pick one fic for this pairing in this post, this is it.

Obi-Wan has a background in a Force tradition that uses divining cards to interact with it and offers to lay a spread for Cody. The cards have a bit of their own opinion and meddle. I found this really interesting, bringing in esoteric things like Tarot in the Star Wars universe is something I would like to see more off.

Cody gets ready for a mission in formalwear and has Obi-Wan help him with the clothing. I love Cody's frustration with the unfamilar clothes, being left in the dark and dismissed as a clone vs. Obi-Wan being loving and supportive.

Early in the war, Cody gets informed that Wolffe lost his eye and goes into panic that his vod might be decomissioned. Mostly clone centric focusing on the constant threat of being killed by any of the superiors they are under. Obi-Wan thankfully finds him and reassures him.

Post-Order 66, CC-2224 dreams of a man who won't stop asking questions. My summary sounds humorous but it's not happy for Cody. He struggles within his own mind that he can't trust while Obi-Wan keeps pushing him. The resulting story is markable for the unreliable narrator and how the voice of CC/Cody manages to switch from what he doesn't know to knowing inside the dream logic of it all.

Wing fic! Obi-Wan needs help with wing grooming and removal of a blood feather. Both him and Cody are pining and trying to downplay the meaning of this. Very fluffy and I hope this verse will get continued.

Cody and Obi-Wan are trapped in a secret Jedi labyrinth that doesn't seem to have a way out. Spoilers for the reveal: Jedi are vampires which really needs to explored more as a concept. It fits very well! Obi-Wan struggles with his control while Cody believes in him. A tender fic with mutual devotion for each other. <3

Porn with a spin on the sex pollen: Instead of fuck or die, Obi-Wan will die if he orgasms. Cody helps talk him through it. Orgasm denial can be hit or miss for me, but this worked well! Cody controlling Obi-Wan with commands only to keep him safe... Great smut without anyone touching.

Cody meets up with Obi-Wan to exchange information. Obi-Wan's cover is a sex worker, which leads to some jealousy by Cody, even though they are already friends with benefits. Aka Cody gets an emotional clue. Some of the thoughts by Cody are not completely sex worker friendly, e.g. the possessiveness, which might turn off some readers from this hot sex. I compartimentalised it as Cody not being aware about the profession and Obi-Wan not really working in the scene.

Obi-Wan's lightsaber likes hanging out with Cody, resulting in lightsaber lessons and them dating. But also trolling everyone that is too eager to know their relationship status by keeping it vague. Follow up is an Order-66-AUwhere Obi-Wan's lightsaber can free Cody from the influence. Obi-Wan argues with the council over what attachment means. Overall happy ending and them adopting a padawan.

Obi-Wan falls to the darkside, but Cody still is willing to believe in him. A mostly tender Sith!Obi-Wan au where Obi-Wan falls because of anger about the situation of the clones.

Cody manages to break free of Order 66 and warn his fellow commanders, but not before he shoots at Obi-Wan. A lot of the fic is heavy for Cody, who doesn't know Obi-Wan survived, and grapples with self-loathing and suicidal thoughts. Happy ending with a lot of hurt/comfort before.

Purge Trooper Cody lands on Tatooine where he finds a Jedi. He has to spend the night due to a sandstorm and falls into bed with the traitor. Cody's pov is so good. He is such an unreliable narrator, who is programmed to hate Jedi but is pulled in by "his" general regardless. Ending is a bit bittersweet, but mostly happy.

Because he is ass over tea kettle for him, but of course as Sith no healthy communication is happening. This is honestly very romcom and I approve.

1. Features Sith!Obi-Wan, which is just hot. 2. Obi-Wan is great at manipulation here - with positive reinforcement. Cody about loses his mind when other clonetroopers just casually tell him they are hardwired for praise kink. Obi-Wan goes for that mercilessly. 3. Cody draws Obi-Wan's attention thanks to his competence, which he proves again and again. Obi is clearly just gone on his clone commander, enough so to get himself captured for a gambit. Overall, this fic just pushes a lot of buttons in a wonderful way to stimulate a warm gooey feelings. Obi-Wan's eventual win is masterfully, but not even he knows how the groundwork he laid works out until the end. Well-earned, truly.

Very self-indulgent fake dating. Cody and Obi-Wan start dating for op security and to get through Anakin thinking he is keeping a secret. Then, they go undercover in Death Watch which is the best. Obi-Wan getting to enjoy Mandalorian culture is a soft spot for me. The meat of the fic for me, I am not going to pretend otherwise.

This is the second best fic for me from Codywan week. I just melt for this. Cody takes a sabbatical on Kamino and wants to figure out if he really loves Obi-Wan by figuring out who he is away from him. It's great. Cody knows he doesn't have that much experience and is worried he is influenced by the conditioning. At the same time, he also gets to spend a lot of time with younger cadets, helping them out and training. He cares so much, he is dutybound because it will keep his loved ones safe. I just want to hug this Cody. The journey of self-discovery ends in Cody being sure of himself and acting on what he learned, showing off how good he is. <3

In an AU with a Mandalorian empire, padawan Obi-Wan asks for safe passage with several rescued kids in his hold. His request gets granted from Mandalore, but because he didn't show his face, Jango treats him like he would a potentially hostile adult. Which leads to.... panicked young Obi-Wan fleeing through the streets of the capital while several worried Mandalorians try to track him without spooking him even more.

This is kink and pining wrapped together into a bundle of kink. Obi-Wan has to have his first heat after twenty years and decides to ask his former master to help him with breeding, while they both try to stuff down feelings into a black box. I really enjoyed how sweet the whole thing was, too? Despite both parties thinking the feelings are unrequited, not a lot time is spent on angst, but on enjoying each other, caring, respecting boundaries and a lot of tactile gestures in and out of heat. Of course, when the birth control fails, the beans end up being spilled.

AU with Sith Qui-Gon: Obi-Wan got nearly bisected on Naboo, Qui-Gon taken and both of them thought the other was dead. Years later, Obi-Wan gets ordered to gain his trust, Fall and betray him. The tenderness between them is amazing. Both of them revolve around the other and are both worried to hurt the other in some way. Another part I appreciated is how disability and long term pain don't really respond well to platitudes some of the Jedi use. Instead, Qui-Gon and Obi-Wan relearning each other helps heal them both.

Anakin who is a massive fan of... holonovelas. And yes, he cries. Excellent crack that got me at times and with how horrible at romance canon Anakin is, this is easily compliant with the movies.

More sith!Obi-Wan, because I am shameless. Obi-Wan fell during the Naboo fight, but kept it hidden from Anakin because that wouldn't be ideal for training. My id truly appreciated self-denying selfish sith!Obi trying to shield Anakin while his student wasn't on board for that. Features some judicious use of the title "master".

Conceal Me What I Am by Himboskywalker . SW Prequels, Obi-Wan Kenobi/Anakin Skywalker, Rated E, No Warnings Apply, omegaverse, ~108k.
Just a big crossover of tropes: Jedi general Anakin gets political married to Senator Obi-Wan. The public thinks they are compatible, Anakin is an alpha and Obi-Wan is a beta. Obi-Wan and Anakin are both trying to make it work while hiding their actual secondary orientation: Anakin being an omega and Obi-Wan an alpha while the expectations for their partner are low and getting surpassed.

Luke or Leia & Darth Vader

The Rod is Mightier Than the Lightsaber by starboundanon . SW, Luke Skywalker & Darth Vader, Rated M, Chose Not To Warn, Id-fic, Corporal Punishment, Infatilisation, ~86.5k.
So, this is unvarnished id-fic, you have been warned. Luke surrenders to the empire before ESB and Vader figures out his identity. At which point the whole fic takes a hard left into indulgence with Vader taking over his father role and spoiling Luke. There is a lot of non-sexual infalitism towards Luke - spanking, swaddling, handfeeding and more. It just scratches all the id needs hard! I know there is an audience for this, I have seen the Spn fandom in its heyday. There is no happy or bittersweet ending, though it is hopeful and positive, it just includes regular spankings and Luke calling Vader "Daddy".

The night Darth Vader killed Emperor Palpatine, Prince Luke got smuggled out of the palace and off planet. Eventually he ends up on Tatooine living in anonymity with two moisture farmers. Over the years, Darth Vader keeps searching for him and raising his bounty for Luke. This is some nice Luke & Vader where Vader is actually somewhat reasonable as a parent with character development off screen. Really enjoyed it and the pay off for Luke fearing him on Tatooine is great.

The Heir by SpellCleaver . SW, Luke Skywalker & Darth Vader, Rated T, Chose Not To Warn, ~105k.
Similar start: Darth Vader kills Palpatine and learns that the prince is actually his own son. The prince... who he threatened and hurt over the years. He decides immediately that his son will rule and that he will enforce this rule, but has no idea how to mend the rift between them. There is a lot of child abuse in this, either targetted from Palpatine or Vader losing control of himself. It takes him a long time to get that his own presence is a frightening Luke and that he needs help. Things do ultimately get better, but it's not fast.

The Suns of Tatooine series by sparklight . SW, Luke Skywalker & Darth Vader, Rated T, No Warnings Apply, ~85k.
This is close to canon familial gen. Luke and Vader get trapped together in a sith temple and a jedi temple where they have to work together. The sith temple is heartbreaking in a way, because Luke gains the hope he has in canon while the jedi part is more relaxed, at least between the two of them.

Black Squadron by Azalea_Scrodds . SW, Luke Skywalker & Darth Vader, Rated T, Chose Not To Warn, manipulation, abuse, ~114k.
If the other fics were mostly fuzzy, this one is harsh. Luke becomes a TIE fighter pilot under Vader, but soon comes into conflict with Vader. He gets punished, both officially and by choking, only his presence in the Force staying Vader's hand at first. Then, he changes his mind and wants to teach Luke, who is pretty traumatised. The exploration of the fear Vader invokes is amazing and Luke gets put through it. There is a hopeful ending of a sorts, but this fic is dark.

This is tightly plotted - Leia is trying to implement policies to slowly have the republic return yet is unsure how stable her position is. Because, of course, Vader didn't make a peep about why he randomly picked her. Instead, she just has a murderous sith bodyguard who she thinks might turn on her any second. The whole situation makes for such a great setting and the gen fic is executed with flying colours.

I love this look at how scary Jedis appear to outsiders/Mandalorians, not even their actual capabilities but just the myths about them. Jedis are seen as sorcerers/witches that are dangerous and can harm with a glance. And despite that, Din still takes the risk of exposing his son to ensure his health.

It's sort of parents day at Luke's new Jedi school and a lot of people that hate each other have a temporary truce. Boba comes as plus one for Din Djarin, professing he doesn't even like kids while fussing over Grogu. The reluctant peace holds until Din gets napped by KalluZeb in what turns out to be a misunderstanding. This fic has everything: Boba being a bastard while actually being soft, Mandalorians being deadly even without weapons, Kallus and Zeb being equally protective of their little family and Zeb and Boba being way too similar to each other, truly. A wonderful ride.

This is an ingenious concept and wonderfully executed: A fake documentary on Hanahaki and sufferers with many fandom references. It's really, really good.
