myrdschaemWow, made it through another ten. I’m kinda surprised I keep it going this long, even with little feedback, and at the same time not at all surprised that I am procrastinating like this.

This fic sparks joy, simply put. Just a delightful piece that transplants the Prime backstory for Orion Pax, aka feral archivist survivalist, into IDW and drops him on the Lost Light. Everything is wonderful and full of OP being an introverted gremlin that mostly causes problems. All the scenes are my favourite, from getting Megatron to go along with him just to hide from conversations to downloading as much of the Iacon archives as he can. The MegOP is mostly UST because the fic gives some tentalising glimpses of them being friends and maybe even more in the before and then a falling out not even Orion can explain. What happened. The fic is self-contained but I am just hoping for a sequel asap.
Dawning series bywhite_aster. Bayverse, JazzWave, MegOP, Seaspray/Thundercracker, Rated M, No Warnings Apply, ~24k.
I have recced the first two fics in this series, which focus on JazzWave with a side of MegOP, before, but this time I finally read the other four fics in the series! I had skipped them because the pairing is Thundercracker/Seaspray containing characters I didn’t know well and wasn’t interested in. The whole combination is very much a Ships that Pass in the Night situation, thankfully white_aster puts in the work to get readers invested in two characters that didn’t even turn up in any Bay movies. Therefore a double rec.

This rogue fanwork comes from Voiceteam and the well-known prompt Take Your Fandom To Work where fans incorporate their dayjob in some way, usually as characters working their job.
...So, turns out olive2read does acupuncture professionally, I guess? That’s one of the more out-there jobs I have seen done. The fanwork is a combination of as close to real diagnostic and recommendation for Optimus and Megatron followed by photos of *the actual toys with needles*. That’s commitment and as long as you don’t collect, I heartedly rec this unorthodox mixed medium fanwork.
The Reason I Keep You bylord_squiggletits. IDW, MegOP, Rated E, No Warnings Apply, Dom/Sub, Objectification, Praise Kink, Orgasm Denial, Cock Warming, ~4.5k.
Another installment of Bomber!Megatron porn and it’s delightful. A bit of roleplaying in the berth where Optimus tries his best to be a good toy.
A Little Personality byfascinationex. TF, Tarn centric, Rated M, Warning for Graphic Depictions of Violence, ~6k.
Before you run, this one is not heavy on torture porn, not that I wouldn’t enjoy that too. Instead, this is a stealth self-insert au where Transformers are human-constructed companions to use. Tarn, as Damus, onlines with his canonical outlier and gets discarded to the military. Things get worse for him and sad, until he decides not to be deactivated. The fic still has some violence in it, it wouldn’t be Tarn otherwise, but ends on a positive note with Tarn offered shelter with a nice human. The psychological examination is very thorough as well and despite being very au Tarn and his motivations stay recognizable.

A Grimlock-centric story where he has his own take on how to stop the war, but noone listens. Instead, he has to do everything himself. Grimlock’s thoughts are written both succintly and logically for his POV as he struggles to communicate, which is not an easy feat of writing. It’s a great showcase of Grimlock being smart, mostly non-verbal and getting his way.

If the author name doesn’t get you by now, let me endorse this further. It’s a brilliant au concept that depends on Elita surviving in favour of Sentinel, leading to Optimus being disgraced but still in the guard. Magnus is very much abusing him and using his self-worth issues to manipulate him. Of course, when Megatron asks for a conjunx in exchange for a peace treaty, Optimus gets thrown to him. And then Mlle just makes the reader swoon a lot with Megatron’s manners and actual concern, holy fuck. Written in who knows how fast, it’s lovely story that wraps up their courting.
